FAQ
Do I need supplements?
`No and yes. We should be able to get all the proper nutrition, micronutrients, vitamins and minerals from our whole foods. However, the reality of our modern fast paced lives limits our access to consistent good whole nutritious foods. We are also demanding more from our bodies than ever before so we cannot afford to restrict ourselves. So supplements are a convenient, cost effective and sometimes necessary tool for a healthy sustainable nutrition plan weight loss, muscle growth and recovery.
Are Mind Body Beautiful Supplements safe?
Absolutely. Our bodies are a sacred temple. My team and I worked for over a year to research ingredients and suppliers to ensure safe and effective results. Our Lean Figure whey protein for example is grass fed and produced in the us GMP standards. We also learned in this process that over 90% of supplements on the market contain imported ingredients! I am not comfortable putting my name behind that so I have worked hard to make sure our supplements are 100% US sourced.
Will supplements upset my stomach?
Generally, no. However, some supplements can for some people. Two supplements that can cause mild stomach upset for some people are creatine and whey protein. We do support the use of creatine supplementation for some individuals. However, we currently do not include it in Mind Body Beautiful products. Whey protein can cause mild digestive upset for some individuals. Many times cheap fillers and ingredients are the problem. That's why we use only the purest grass-fed US sourced whey protein. It is not the cheapest, but it is the highest quality we can find. If the Lean Figure Whey Protein does upset your stomach due to the dairy source, then the vegan protein blend Lean Figure V is the answer. Tastes great and non- inflammatory.
Do only athletes take supplements?
There is no set rule as to who can or can't take them, each individual is different and has slightly different requirements. Even light exercise can cause a loss of vital nutrients or minerals that you need and it is important to make sure all elements needed for your body’s natural functioning are present. Sweating, for example, can remove electrolytes from the body which are important for many internal functions, which water cannot replace, therefore making supplements a beneficial addition to your workout. Supplements ensure your optimum performance when working out again by replacing those that have been lost.
Will using supplements make be bulky?
No. A bad diet makes us bulky. LOL Believe it or not, many of my clients don't eat enough or enough of the right “macronutrients”. This triggers a primitive starvation response in the body, putting any excess glycogen into storage in the form of adipose tissue or fat stores for later when the body thinks it will need it. If you eat adequate amounts of the right types of food the body revs up its metabolism to burn off the slight excess of glycogen in the blood. The revved up metabolism then burns off a little extra fat stores in the process. You actually lose weight by eating more. Supplements can help make that happen.
Will supplements have any medication interactions?
The fast answer is no. We use very specific safe and tested ingredients that do not have a known history of drug interactions. With that said, if you have any concerns we highly suggest consulting your physician.

No. Some pre-work out and peri-work out drink supplements add high levels of caffeine and other ingredients so you “feel” them more. Perform and Recover does not contain any caffeine or other stimulants.
